In the vaults you create today, LifeVault locks your notes, passwords, and uploaded files on your device before it saves them. LifeVault cannot read that private content. Legal documents LifeVault creates for you work differently. LifeVault protects those PDFs on its servers with AES-256 encryption.

Common questions about LifeVault Secure
Is LifeVault Secure really end-to-end encrypted?
Yes. Every vault you create today uses client-side, end-to-end encryption, including on the free plan. Your notes, passwords, and structured vault data are encrypted on your device before they ever reach our servers, so we cannot read them. The files you upload to those vaults are end-to-end encrypted too; the legal documents we generate for you use server-side AES-256 so we can produce and deliver them.
How does emergency access work?
LifeVault Secure offers three emergency access modes: a dead man's switch (your vault unlocks automatically after you miss a check-in for a set period), a scheduled unlock (you specify a future date when access is granted), and life event triggers (access activates when a configurable event occurs). You choose who gets access, what they can see, and exactly when it happens.
What can I store in LifeVault Secure?
You can store encrypted documents (PDFs, images, and other files), passwords and login credentials, secure notes, and legacy plans. Everything lives in your encrypted vault and is only accessible to people you authorize.
How is LifeVault Secure priced?

Does LifeVault Secure replace my password manager?
LifeVault Secure includes a built-in password manager so you can store login credentials alongside your documents and legacy plans — all in one encrypted vault. You no longer need a separate password manager app.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export your data at any time before canceling. After cancellation, your vault remains accessible until your paid period expires, giving you ample time to export everything. We do not delete your data immediately upon cancellation.
